Common Reconciliation Errors

Mismatch between GSTR-3B and GSTR-1 outward figures. ITC claimed in 3B not reflecting in 2A. Missing HSN codes. Unreported supplies from monthly returns. Wrong RCM calculation. Non-reporting of debit/credit notes. Reconcile monthly to avoid December deadline rush.

Filing Process

Step 1: Login to GST portal. Step 2: Navigate to Annual Return. Step 3: Verify auto-populated data from GSTR-1/3B. Step 4: Reconcile ITC with GSTR-2A. Step 5: Add missed supplies. Step 6: Compute interest if any. Step 7: Preview and verify. Step 8: Pay additional tax if needed. Step 9: File using DSC or EVC. Step 10: Download acknowledgment.

Late Fees

Rs. 200/day (Rs. 100 CGST + Rs. 100 SGST) capped at 0.5% of turnover. Interest at 18% per annum on net tax liability paid after due date. Non-filing can block future returns, e-way bills, and risk registration cancellation.
